oculavis SHARE: The Remote Service Platform for B2B service processes based on Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence Technologies

Periodic Reporting for period 3 - oculavis SHARE (oculavis SHARE: The Remote Service Platform for B2B service processes based on Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence Technologies)

Berichtszeitraum: 2021-04-01 bis 2022-01-31

Even in 2022 the reality of industrial customer services and technical documentation is neither digital nor automated. Technical documentation is often available as printed documents on the shop floor. Even for smaller tasks service technicians travel on-site. Machine data is accessible via special VPN remote support connections only. For spare part orders, complex processes are initiated, even though longstanding contracts already exist between the companies. Service tickets are created via phone calls, followed by extensive exchanges via email, phone and even WhatsApp conversations. The oculavis SHARE platform addresses these issues.

The main objective of this SME Phase-2 Project was to develop all functionalities and processes to allow scaling to a European and worldwide level with 10,000+ installations. SHARE is on the way to be established as the worldwide leading software for remote processes and service apps based on AI and AR technologies. Within this SME Phase-2 project, oculavis has planned to develop the project parts SHARE-CORE (Core Functionalities: innovative software modules), SHARE-SaaS (fully automatic deployment system), SHARE-COIS (Customer Online Information System: A customer website with all relevant information to use, install and manage SHARE) and SHARE-SBP (Scalable Business Processes at oculavis).

All in all, oculavis is extremely satisfied with the results of this SME Phase-2 project and thanks the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program for its trust and support throughout the entire project.
During this SME Phase-2 project, oculavis worked on six work packages, which included a total of 25 individual sub-tasks and 28 deliverables. Further regular project updates regarding the use of funding and technical implementation were presented in the form of regular technical and financial reports, which were submitted every ten months and now consist of three financial reports and three technical reports. The project also included a milestone plan consisting of seven individual milestones, all of which were achieved by the end of the project. The SHARE project contributes to the sustainable development goals of the EU. SHARE allows to create sustainable jobs in the manufacturing markets by digital supported workplaces, to qualify employees automatically with new technologies like AR and AI as well as reduce CO2 emissions of manufacturing companies in service by up to 50%. Flight travels are a major source for CO2 emissions in Europe. As a defensive estimation, about 450 million business trips of European know-how carriers cause about 225 million tons of CO2 emissions per year. This equals to the sum of yearly allowed CO2 emissions of Germany until 2050. SHARE can help to massively reduce these emissions when used by many companies.
