Lifesaving medical products such as blood and organs need to be transported at strict maintenance conditions and quickly, as they are perishable. Current transportation systems are too slow and subjected to traffic conditions and driver’s availability, often too expensive (plane, helicopter), and lack the possibility to monitor the quality of the transported good in real time.
ADrone4Life is the first system in the world to provide a specialised transport service that monitors the quality of the goods transported. It consists on a smart casing specifically designed for transporting blood and high-value medical products (e.g. organs, tissues, test samples, drugs), able to fly autonomously any drone it is attached to. The system adjusts the conditions of the product when needed, ensuring that goods are ready to be used as soon as delivered. The system replaces the need for specialised drivers and traditional road-bound transportation means, while guaranteeing compliance with all applicable safety regulations.

During this feasibility study we carried out a technical, financial and commercial analysis of ADrone4Life project. A detailed technical plan for the implementation of the smart casing improvements was defined, identifying measures to mitigate potential risks and confirming the technical feasibility of the project. The healthcare transportation market and the medical drone industry were analysed to assess the feasibility of our commercial strategy. From this analysis it was concluded that ADrone4Life will satisfy the demand for faster and cheaper blood delivery at high quality standards in our main target markets (Italy, Europe, Japan, UAE and USA).
The financial projections elaborated confirmed that the project is viable from a financial point of view as it will make cumulative revenues in 5 years of over €14 million.

ADrone4Life will be the only technology on the market capable of driving automatically any drone carrying perishable medical products with real-time monitoring and maintenance of the right preservation conditions. ADrone4Life will cut delivery times up to 80% and costs for healthcare facilities by 50%, compared to traditional road transportation. Our technology will increase the efficiency of emergency medical products transportation, contributing to saving lives and improving community’s wellbeing.
