Periodic Reporting for period 1 - SSR (Voltage Shield Stabilizer Regulator)
Periodo di rendicontazione: 2019-12-01 al 2020-03-31
Voltage management is critical to users of electrical equipment and sensitive electronics. Commercial, industrial, and residential applications require a consistent voltage despite load current variations caused by expanding system demand and load profile fluctuations.
The innovative voltage stabilizer SSR-Shield Stabilizer Regulator can stabilize the voltage level at the nominal value for fluctuations up to ±20% (compared to ±10% of state of the art competitors). Differently from current solutions available on the market, in SSR the voltage is controlled in continuous way and not by steps as in the conventional systems.
This is done by means of a brushless motor that automatically and dynamically adjusts the position of a mobile isolated, short-circuited coil over the fixed coil in the magnetic core. Besides, SSR’s magnetic core will be made of amorphous materials, which limit losses (20% compared to the standard) with consequent 20% energy savings and 8% CO2 emissions.
• Task 1: Technical Feasibility Study
• Task 2: IPR Protection and regulatory issues
• Task 3: Business Plan
• Task 4: – Financial Feasibility Study
The project will continue, with the necessary funding being partly covered by C&M stakeholder and partly requested to the European Commission as an SME-INST phase 2 project, as detailed in the previous section.
For C&M, the impact will be to increase its turnover over 40M € within 5 years from start of commercialization, with an internal rate of return of 549% and employment increase of 8 people the first year, 16 people the second year and 29 people the fifth year after start of commercialization.
