Un modo semplice per costruire unità di controllo integrate
I sistemi integrati possono essere trovati dappertutto, comprese le automobili, le lavatrici e i tostapane e praticamente ovunque, dall’elettronica di consumo al settore militare e aerospaziale. Essi sono utilizzati in molti dispositivi moderni. I moderni sistemi integrati sono in genere basati su microcontrollori, discostandosi da semplici microprocessori. Il progetto Contunity, finanziato dall’UE, si propone di rivoluzionare lo sviluppo di sistemi integrati attraverso l’automazione e la semplificazione. A sua volta, ciò consentirà ai team di sviluppo di costruire facilmente unità di controllo integrate, senza una profonda conoscenza dell’elettronica. In particolare, il progetto applicherà l’intelligenza artificiale e l’apprendimento automatico a ogni fase del processo di sviluppo per generare automaticamente il codice integrato, gli schemi hardware e il layout PCB necessari per la produzione del sistema.
Obiettivo
The demand of embedded systems, present in many everyday devices, is significantly growing due to the rise of automation, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 among others. As of now, most of the development is still performed through time-consuming, error-prone and costly manual engineering work, requiring highly skilled professionals and considerable know-how. Due to the increasing shortage of skilled labor and complexity of the devices, the development of electronics and embedded systems is currently facing a growing challenge, as the industry cannot keep the pace with ever shorter production cycles. Efficient alternative solutions automating the development process could significantly reduce the development effort (up to 90% time and 80% costs) of medium-sized companies, helping them close the skills gap and driving their digitalization.
Contunity is a disruptive software solution that revolutionize the development of embedded systems through automation and simplification, empowering development teams to easily build embedded control units, without deep knowledge about electronics. We apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to every step of the development process to automatically generate the individual embedded code, hardware schematics and PCB-layout required for the manufacturing of the system. Our technology goes beyond current automation solutions by integrating hard- and software development in an easy-to-use software that eliminates current know-how barriers.
We aim to reach a fully automated development process that delivers a superior quality to current manual engineering work. With Contunity we will help businesses to digitize their products and services, making electronics accessible for everyone.
We estimate that 5 years after project completion, Contunity will allow us to hire 100 new employees until then and to generate €82,88M accumulated profit in 2022-2025, reaching a ROI of 17,84.
