Doktorandenstipendien am IRB Barcelona zur Förderung von 3i in der Biomedizin
Das Institute for Research in Biomedicine in Barcelona (IRB Barcelona) ist eine international anerkannte Forschungseinrichtung mit dem Ziel, das Wissen über die menschliche Gesundheit durch die Konvergenz von Biologie, Chemie und Medizin voranzubringen. Seine Aufgabe ist die Ausbildung junger Forschender im multidisziplinären wissenschaftlichen Umfeld der IRB-Labore. Gegenwärtig ist ein innovatives neues Doktorandenprogramm in Planung, mit dem das Ausbildungsangebot und die entsprechende Laufbahnentwicklung auf ein neues Spitzenniveau gehoben werden soll. In diesem Zusammenhang wird das EU-finanzierte Projekt IRB_DREAM 10 Doktorandenstipendien mit einer Dauer von vier Jahren anbieten. Ihr Sinn ist es, 3i-Methoden zu fördern, laufbahnförderliche Ideen zu unterstützen und akademische Ergebnisse hervorzubringen. Das Programm wird das Feld der Biomedizin stärken und vielversprechende Nachwuchsforscherinnen und -forscher am Beginn ihrer Laufbahn unterstützen.
Ziel
IRB Barcelona is a world-class research centre conducting multidisciplinary research of excellence at the unique interface between biology, chemistry and medicine and devoted to understanding fundamental questions about human health and disease. One of the main missions of the Institute is to provide young life scientists with the opportunity to train and conduct research in a unique and multidisciplinary scientific environment. IRB_DREAM is an innovative initiative that will offer 10 four-year fellowships in two separate calls to young and talented researchers to undertake their PhD theses in one of the 27 laboratories at IRB Barcelona. IRB_DREAM seeks to revamp IRB Barcelonas current PhD Programme by adding an innovative dimension, namely the customization of both the training offer and career development, to its already recognised excellence in research. To implement this enhanced training approach, IRB_DREAM not only counts on a unique training offer carefully designed to promote the 3i aspect but it particularly fosters much valued secondments and other initiatives aimed at enhancing the impact of the results and the career prospects of candidates beyond academia. In this regard, the objectives of IRB_DREAM are fully aligned with IRB Barcelonas mid-term strategic objectives: to enhance the international visibility of the Institute, to boost translational research by devoting resources to new collaborations with hospitals, and to continue promoting knowledge and new technology transfer to the industrial sector. Fellows will be selected through an independent committee of experts, thereby ensuring transparency and equal treatment of all applications. All of IRB Barcelonas research programmes will be open to applications from IRB_DREAM fellows. The IRB_DREAM programme will specifically bolster the career development of highly talented scientists and strengthen the biomedical sciences in general.
