Objectif
OBJECTIVES
It is important to facilitate the access to training for people who are financially less-favoured or who are geographically isolated, by using continuing training techniques applicable in their work place rather than in a training centre. With this in mind, a survey will be carried out in order to analyse and compare the quality and value for money of continuing training modules available on the market, and assess their relevance in terms of the needs of employers and employees. At the end of this survey, the research report should be able to propose methods which allow training to be recognised by professional organisations and training institutions, while offering employees the chance to bring their training up to date and to improve their skills without leaving the work place.
ACTIVITIES
The study's partners will select, in their own country, a certain number of vocational institutions and organisations and will conduct a survey on the training modules available. They will compile information both on the content of modules and their cost and on the number of participants. The latter will be analysed by a group of experts who will determine to what extent these modules satisfy the needs, what improvements need to be made to them and how they should be presented in order for it to be of interest to the greatest number of candidates. During a second stage, the results of the study will be passed to vocational organisations and to university institutions in order to determine how the qualifications obtained through this training could be officially recognised.
RESULTS
- Inventory of training programmes offered in European countries.
- Creation of a network of people likely to implement training which respond to needs.
- Development of a methodology which enables the greatest number of candidates to have access to training, based on a traditional approach and on the latest distance learning techniques.
