Project description
Multiuser immersive solution for safe group training
Among our ageing population, an increasing number of people seek to improve physical health through exercise, sports and rehabilitation. Social context, direct support from therapists and effective feedback are crucial for the effectiveness of such activities and the well-being of patients. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, isolation nowadays prevails. To address this issue, the EU-funded VR2Care project will provide a uniquely designed technological solution enabling people from different physical locations to attend group exercise classes, with active, real-time participation of all stakeholders: users, therapists and communities. The novel solution will be made possible through the adaptation of multiuser immersive experiences based on virtual reality. Four demonstrators across Europe will support project pilots presenting VR2Care’s capabilities.
