Finding and Assessing proteIn nano-crystaLs, a Fail fAst STory

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - Fail Fast (Finding and Assessing proteIn nano-crystaLs, a Fail fAst STory)

Berichtszeitraum: 2021-01-01 bis 2022-06-30

Regardless of dosage form, a drug must be soluble to reach its target disease. Measuring solubility is a burden that must be addressed for any successful drug candidate. However, current solubility measurements require filters or columns that are time-consuming, expensive and unreliable. In this project, we simplified solubility measurement with a high-throughput apparatus that is at least 10x cheaper to operate & 10x faster compared to the gold-standard, with improved sensitivity. We pursued actively customer development and established collaborations both in academia and in industry. Through on-site testing we validated the prototype in real conditions, optimized it based on their needs and validated a minimum viable product showcasing the value proposition. This product is adapted for the sample plates commonly used in the industry, and for automatized measurements. In addition, we investigated feasible business model and marketed our product through events and online marketing (social media, website).

Our solution drastically reduces the consumption of consumables, chemicals, and electricity. It alleviates the issues of energy-consumption and recycling of chemicals from the environmental footprint of pharmaceutical companies. In addition, our technology will improve the state-of-the-art, uplift pharmaceutical drug R&D leading to improved drug-quality and drug development, hence progressing towards good health and well-being in the world.
