Tailoring ODS materials processing routes for additive manufacturing of high temperature devices for aggressive environments

Risultati finali

Selection of materials according to their long-term behaviour in oxidizing (air, steam, water vapour) and reducing atmospheres (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Depending on the testing matrix defined in Subtask 6.1.3, the long-term corrosion behaviour at high temperatures in oxidizing and reducing atmopsheres are summarized in a public report. Furthermore, promising material compositions are identified.

Life Cycle Assessment - LCA (si apre in una nuova finestra)

A public report on the Life Cycle Assessment will be delivered. LCA identifies, quantifies, and evaluates the environmental impacts (inputs and outputs), in different impact categories, of a product, service, or technology. These categories include climate change, human and eco-toxicity, ionizing radiation, and resource base deterioration (e.g. water, non-renewable primary energy resources, land, etc.). Furthermore, the improvements listed in table 2.b concerning energy efficiency, CO2 reduction and lifetime are evaluated.

A public report concerning the internal corrosion kinetics determined by computational thermodynamics will be delivered.

Dissemination and Communication Plan (si apre in una nuova finestra)

To comply with the provision of the Grant Agreement this document informs About the contact persons workflows and provisions to communicate and disseminate the project results This document provides guidelines for all partners and includes the project webpage and other communication channels

Design evaluation for the finalized designs (si apre in una nuova finestra)

A design evaluation of the final component design will be published in a report. The design of the component needs to be revised during the project, especially depending on the results obtained in WP2 (ICME) and WP6 (material properties). After obtaining the optimized design for the heat exchanger and the burner head, they need to be compared with the conventionally manufactured counterparts. Some of the parameters for this comparison can be cost of manufacturing, amount of material used, fabrication time, ease of manufacturability, necessity of using fixtures and post-processing requirements for the components. These parameters will be taken into account when developping the design evaluation.

Lifetime prediction model (si apre in una nuova finestra)

A lifetime prediction model suitable for each of the alloys developed is defined and delivered within a public report. Component lifetime prognosis is a key requirement for successful market introduction of the developed Fe-, Ni, NiCu-based ODS alloys and the related components.

Project management handbook provided at the beginning of the project ensures that all partners know and comply to project specific workflows and procedures Besides information on the workflows for quality assurance Information and due dates for risk management will be included

A public data sheet of the mechanical properties of the investigated LPBF-built Fe/Ni/NiCu-ODS alloys will be made available.

A public report concerning the thermophysical properties (e.g., thermal expansion coefficient, thermal diffusivity, thermal capacity) is delivered.

A public data sheet of the corrosion properties of the investigated LPBF-built Fe/Ni/NiCu-ODS alloys will be made available.

Mechanical alloying modification of Fe/Ni/NiCu-based powders (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Delivering of approx. 30kg of each Fe/Ni/NiCu-based material after modification by mechanical alloying.

Oxidation/nitridation modification of Fe/Ni/NiCu-based powders (si apre in una nuova finestra)

Delivering of approx. 30kg of each Fe/Ni/NiCu-based material after modification by oxidation/nitridation.
