Database of RD&D spending for RES in the EU countries

The project REDS has created a database with the RD&D expenditures in the field of renewable energy sector for the years 2000 and 2001 in all EU 15 countries. It includes public and private funds, at the national as well as local level. Further data covering the decade since 1992 has been provided for some countries. The database is available in nominal currency and Euro 2002. It includes some information on the personnel involved in the research activity, both in Full Time Equivalent (FTE) and Headcount terms. The database and the project final report can be downloaded from: http://www.eu.fhg.de/reds The data collected have also been compared with the RD&D database of IEA. The validity and consistency of the data have been accurately evaluated and the results, even if incomplete because in some countries this information is not collected at all, are a good snapshot of the effort made in the EU countries in the RD&D for renewables.
