Obiettivo To study NOX emission reduction by use of low NOX burners, by the introduction of NH3 or ammonia water in the preheater/precalciner (SNCR process) and by staged combustion in the precalciner where the utilization of primary and secondary fuels will be tested.The research project can be divided into the following subsectors :1. Evaluation of the differences in NOX emission from selected cement plants;2. primary NOX reduction methods;3. SNCR Process (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction);4. staged combustion in the precalciner.The investigations on the SNCR processes will be carried out at a normal rotary kiln with cyclone preheater and at a kiln system with cyclone preheater, precalciner and tertiary air duct.
