Obiettivo
Overheating in diamond saw blades causes excessive wear and buckling of the saw blade, and the lifetime of the blade would be severely reduced. To prevent this, blades are usually cooled with water but the cooling systems used today are far from optimal. This project is set up to research the heating problem, which is common in sawing concrete, asphalt, stone, and similar materials, as well as the associated cooling system. Once investigated thoroughly, an improved cooling system will be developed and incorporated in a sawing machine, which in particular is suitable for concrete and asphalt floors, to test the renewed concept in practice.
