Obiettivo
The object of the 4th Conference 'Paris HIV 99' is to create a forum for dialogue to share experiences and exchange concept in order to:
- originate and encourage networks and alliances within and amongst industrialised and developing countries;
- facilitate the involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS in the creation and implementation of care projects and daily support - promote the participation of volunteer and family nursing staff;
- improve home and community care by means of community and volunteers participation;
- mobilise and promote individuals'rights;
- advance the recruitment, training and support for researchers, volunteers, and professionals;
- provide and opportunity for international and no-governmental organisations to explore existing and new strategies and models in response to the needs of the those infected and affected in view of new scientific and technical developments;
- promote an effective role of community groups in administrative aspects when dealing with decision-making authorities at every level.
The conference is built on six main themes:
1. Medical aspects of home and community care;
2. Psychosocial aspects and support for home and community care;
3. The role of community and self-support groups in home and community care;
4. Ethics and human rights in home and community care;
5. Monitoring and evaluating the quality of home and community care services and programmes;
6. Care, care-givers and home care.
'Paris HIV 99' is unique in that conference, unlike others, whether international AIDS conventions or specific symposiums of the clinical or bio-psychological aspects of epidemic, provides and exemplary and adequate forum for the discussion and development of home and community care.
