Obiettivo
This project intends to contribute to the design of a broad approach to promoting the achievement of a more inclusive Europe. It addresses in particular the study of institutional conditions that may foster the participation of civil society to activities associated with the satisfaction of social needs. Dealing with the problems of social cohesion and inclusion in an economic perspective requires a critical appraisal of the prevailing concepts of action and order in our discipline. It involves, in particular, a re-discussion of the role of the normative dimensions in economic analysis. Bringing together different economic theoretical views on the issue of action and order, and combining historical, experimental and computational approaches, this project's team aim is to argue the importance of values and shared rules in economics, and to explore new ways to incorporate them consistently in economic theory and policy.
