Obiettivo
This project relates to the "ARt NOuveau" architectural heritage of two major European capitals Brussels and Vienna at the turn of the century and aims at producing new multimedia information content. The project will present the Golden Age of Art Nouveau or Jugendstil throughout different approaches showing the common inspiration amongst the architects and artists of that time. The various ties between both cities will be emphasied. Relations between Belgian and AAustrian architects and artists, mutual influence but also respective difference will be highlighted. - The presentation will be packaged on a CD-Rom to provide the public with numerous information on the subject through an expert combination of texts, sounds and images. - A Web Site dedicated to the Art Nouveau Heritage will be simultaneously launched and maintained, displaying a selection of the data and infography collected or created for the CD-Rom. That site will promote the content via world wide networks (Internet or any interesting intranet) and give practical advice on sightseeing tours in Brussels and Vienna, with the co-operation of specialised organisations. - Geographical features will be embedded both in the CD-Rom presentation and on the Web site to provide map localisation and orientation to the places and events on display. - Through the Web Site, with the co-operation of specialised organisations, a specific user interface will be put at the disposal of those proposing thematic tours on the Architectural Heritage. Complementary information such as length, duration, particularities of the tours will also be made available. Additionally, an on-line reservation system will be implemented letting any tourist book his participation to his chosen tour through web services. The "hyperlink" navigation structure embedded on the CD-Rom as well as on the Web site will give a feeling of mobility and animation, will make look alive something generally considered as absolutely static: Architecture. The complementary approach of the CD-Rom and the Web site could certainly be regarded as an innovative concept with incredible potential in terms of marketing and awareness. This ARNO proposal is elaborated by a strong partnership mixing small private companies, expert in teh area of multimedia information and cultural information publishing, and, public organisms able to influence legal, commercial and infrastructure context in order to support the production. The synergy generated by this close association will create the right conditions and environment to promote multimedia publishing on cultural heritage and benefit by it. One supporting the other, to make it a commercial self supporting product and in the other way, to promote and enforce the sensitive policy on protection of the Archtectural Heritage.
