Obiettivo
The testing activity for a complex and sophisticated system having embedded software with an objective of zero default is a major industrial concern. Testing of systems with inter-operating components presents a basic problem: Indeed, it is not sufficient to test each component solely. It is in fact mandatory to test the dynamic behaviour of the whole system, depending upon the components interoperation. This project will deploy a multi-site tele-testing environment (TOPEN) for systems made up of inter-operating components. Mechatronic systems (provided by Ligeron S.A.) and software for on-line monitoring and control (provided by LABEIN) will be used as test scenarios.
Objectives:
The METSES project is to deploy a multi-site tele-testing environment for systems made up of inter-operating components, TOPEN. METSES, based on environment TOPEN, will be used to define tests at user-level, specifically designed to validate the behaviour of components with embedded software. Objectives are:
a) To deploy TOPEN enabling it to be used in industrial projects;
b) To develop the methodological baseline for the use of TOPEN to check requirements in a systematic fashion. Its applicability will be mainly at integration and transfer/acceptance phases;
c) To test complex systems. Mechatronic systems (e.g. provided by Ligeron S.A.) and software for on-line monitoring and control (provided by LABEIN);
d) To propose TOPEN software to clients/customers for full validation.
Milestones:
Milestone 1 (M-1): Month 5. Characterised by the delivery of two documents on the responsibility of Ligeron S.A.: User requirements and Market Analysis;
Milestone 2 (M-2): Month 8. Characterised by the delivery of a report with both case studies, provided by LABEIN and LIGERON;
Milestone 3 (M-3): Month 12. Test report and TOPEN is released;
Milestone 4 (M-4): Month 15. End of project. Characterised by the delivery of an assessment report and updated software tool.
