Obiettivo
The PEACE project will organise the following event and its follow-up: The ITS Session of the EU-China Co-operation Forum on Information Society 2002 in Beijing, 16-20 April 2002. It is complementary to the EU-China ITS Conference, which took place in 2001. This latter concentrated on exchange of ITS policies, strategies, standards, and legal and regulation issues and on the identification of potential co-operation areas with greatest mutual interest. The 2002 event however will more address concrete ITS co-operation projects and partnerships between interested European and Chinese organisations. The duration of the project is 18 months.
Objectives:
The general objectives of the PEACE project are:
- to disseminate advanced European ITS technologies to potential users, partners and the general public in China;
- to raise the profile of European industry in China;
- to encourage a wide application of European ITS technologies in China for mutual interest and to support industry co-operation between EU and China in ITS applications, e.g. co-operation projects, joint ventures.
Work description:
In order to disseminate European ITS technologies in China and to strengthen the EU-China industry co-operation in the ITS field, PEACE will organise the following event: The ITS Session of the EU-China Co-operation Forum on Information Society 2002 in Beijing, 16 - 20 April 2002. The session will address concrete ITS co-operation projects and partnerships between interested European and Chinese organisations by presenting potential ITS co-operation projects, exhibiting innovative EU ITS systems and organising ITS business meetings. The PEACE project will be carried out in close collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST). The duration of the project is 18 months. The main outputs of the project are the conference proceedings, the defined EU-China ITS co-operation projects and the created partnerships between European and Chinese companies. The main topics covered by the event include: ITS policies and development trends, Training, City ITS planning and implementation, Public transport management and information, Motorway traffic management and information, ITS for railway transport, waterway transport and Airport management, Electronic Toll Collection, Digital road map and in-vehicle navigation, Traffic and traveller information.
Milestones:
Month 5: Preparatory workshop for The Co-operation Forum in Brussels;
Month 8: ITS Session of the EU-China Co-operation Forum on Information Society 2002;
Month 11: Proceedings of the ITS Session of the Forum;
Month 14 Follow-up workshop to strengthen and deepen EU-China ITS project co-operation and business contacts;
Month 18 Final Project Report.
