Unified Enterprise Modelling Language

Obiettivo

The objectives of UEML Working group is to define, to validate and to disseminate a set of core language constructs to support a Unified Language for Enterprise Modelling, named UEML, to serve as a basis for interoperability within a smart organisation or a network of enterprises. After a state of the art, the working group will detect the user requirements in terms of Enterprise Modelling application domains, methodology and software tools. The foundations of the UEML will be defined and the future development topics established. A demonstrator portal will be developed to inform potential interested users on the language development and to gather their recommendations. The UEML working group results will be also disseminate through papers, demonstrations, workshops. The project aims at the end, to prepare a complete project to develop the complete UEML.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of the UEML project is to create an UEML Working group which aims: - at creating a European Consensus on a common Enterprise Modelling Language and to facilitate interoperability in the frame of on-going standardisation efforts in this domain. The common language representing this consensus will be defined in terms of a core set of modelling constructs - at building an UEML demonstrator to promote, test, and collect comments on the proposed Modelling Language Constructs- at preparing the launching of project to define, implement, extend, the complete UEML. The UEML working group will be composed of a core membership of 8 partners and of an UEML network of persons interested by the development of such a language.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The structure of the project is organised in six work-packages:WP1: ""State of the art"" will define a framework for characterizing current EM approaches, use this framework for a review of current EM approaches and explore the state of the art in modelling language design; WP2: ""Needs and requirements"" will define the enterprise modelling application domains and organise workshops to detect user requirements. WP3: ""Definition of UEML"" will define the UEML requirements in term of objectives, structure, way of working, properties, according to the WP1 and WP2, will establish the list of core constructs of UEML, provide examples of application for those core constructs, propose an UEML development strategy and finally identify future relevant research and technical topics. WP4: ""Demonstrator portal"" aims at defining the users and contents for the Demonstrator Portal, at building demonstrators using the UEML core constructs, at publishing on web the description of the core constructs and finally at providing services for other projects to use and contribute to the UEML constructs. WP5: ""Dissemination, evaluation and market prospects"" will prepare and implement the UEML network, will disseminate knowledge on UEML constructs and will conduct market surveys and identify R&D opportunities. WP6: ""Project Management"" is concerned with the management of the whole project.
