State aid: Germany; Spain
Authorization for State aid (cases where the Commission raises no objections) is published with regard to the following RTD-related projects: - Germany: Soft loans and guarantees for development of SMEs, environmental protection, energy conservation, and stimulation of capital goods exports to developing countries (aid of ECU 3.9 billion in 1992); "1000 roofs" project, Hamburg, awarding grants to owners of family houses installing photovoltaic solar energy heating (ECU 0.3 million); financial aid for the avoidance and reduction of harmful effects of industrial waste in Hessen (ECU 8.4 million in 1992); Lower Saxony, guarantees for investment in central and eastern Europe (ECU 122 million); Thuringen, grants for the undertaking of energy conservation measures and the use of renewable energy sources (ECU 2 million during 1992). - Spain: In Murcia, measures to promote design, quality and marketing (ECU 3.4 million, 1992-1993); Catalonia, investment in environmental improvement (ECU 1.15 million).
