This deliverable contains the proceedings of the international expert workshop communicated in concise form as a blog The report draws out main conclusions challenging analyses validations and critiques on the EnergyPROSPECTS conceptualization as inputs for its consolidation

Publication EnergyPROSPECTS perspective

This deliverable presents a synthesis of the conceptual framework in the form of a working paper, to be submitted (after minor refinements) to a high-ranked scientific journal (e.g. Environmental Innovation and Societal Transitions; Research Policy).

Case study data collection methodology (including list of cases for in-depth study)

Document including the methodology developed collaboratively in EnergyPROSPECTS for indepth study of energy citizenship The document will include the criteria used for selecting the cases for indepth study the list of cases selected for indepth study as well as a copy of the data collection template

Conceptual framework energy citizenship

This deliverable describes the conceptual framework on energy citizenship It will lay down the key definitions theoretical underpinnings and social constructions of the required systematic energy citizenship understanding The conceptual framework will disclose the diversity of more and less active energy citizenship forms identifying the main distinctions brought forward in the stateoftheart of social innovation and transitions political science sociology energy studies social psychology geography and critical social theory This also involves elaboration of the different understandings of the energy systems that energy citizenship can be taken to refer to

The influence of remote and proximate conditions for energy citizenship outcomes

The deliverable reports on the QCA analysis in Task 43 relating to the influence of remote and proximate conditions for energy citizenship outcomes

Summary of findings to harness energy citizenship in

This deliverable will synthesize the project findings based on the short briefs prepared after major project publications. It will aim at policy-makers, energy stakeholders and all interested parties, hence presenting findings in a non-technical language with emphasis on policy-relevant findings.

Consolidated EnergyPROSPECTS Conceptual framework

This deliverable forms the concluding synthesis of WP2. Based on external feedback, conceptual advances and the empirical insights developed in WP3, WP4 and WP5, the deliverable provides empirically informed and conceptually refined insights into ‘active’ energy citizenship, the associated broader range of citizenship, and the relevant empowerment processes and supportive conditions that shape it.

Conceptual typology

This deliverable elaborates the fundamentals of the conceptual framework (D2.1) into a conceptual typology. The deliverable elaborates, systematizes and operationalises the key conceptual distinctions into empirical observables and examples, analytical categories, and sensitising concepts for further empirical analyses (WP3-6) and for activities in dissemination (WPs 1 and 7). This second stage in conceptualization ensures that the conceptual framework provides sufficient foothold for the development of empirically grounded typologies, and for application throughout the project (analysis in thematic work packages, but also policy advice and dissemination activities).

6 newsletters and a report of media coverage throughout the project, including results from 3 press releases.

Catalogue of energy citizenship cases and typologies

Document including the list and brief description of 500 energy citizenship cases catalogued in EnergyPROSPECTS. The document also provides the typologies developed, with the description of typology categories. The catalogue will also be made available as a searchable online database.

Report on regional workshops

This report integrates the proceedings of the four regional workshops in task 23 Apart from informing the further development and deepening of the conceptual energy citizenship typology D22 the workshop proceedings will be communicated through a series of blogs on the EnergyPROSPECTS website

Analytical report on PESTEL factors in the EU context

The report will present the detailed analysis of the EU context and explain the major political economic social technological environmental and legal conditions that shape the emergence manifestations and transformations of energy citizenship The report will serve as the reference point for the energy citizenship as observed in different national and local contexts

Working paper with recommendations

This deliverable will consist of a list of recommendations emerging from the research and stakeholders’ involvement. The aim of this document is to be commented and amended by a diversity of practitioners and participants to our activities. The final version delivered will be a clean version taking into account stakeholders' inputs.

Strategic collective system building activities and institutional change

This deliverable reports on the role of energy citizenship in strategic collective system building activities and institutional change

Comparative report identifying potential strategies to advance the energy citizenship

The report will identify the most viable business models, social innovation models and new forms of organisation appropriate for advancing energy citizenship in different conditions. The report will include strategies for upscaling energy citizenship in the 9 participating countries, aimed at businesses, policy-makers, energy citizenship practitioners and citizens belonging to different social groups.

Analytical report on PESTEL factors in the national and local context

This deliverable will incorporate nine national analytical reports explaining the political economic social technological environmental and legal conditions in which energy citizenship has developed in nine partner countries This comprehensive report will juxtapose the national contexts against the common EU frame and outline the countryspecific conditions that appear to either support or hinder the development of active energy citizenship

Training package and guidelines for in-depth data collection methodology

The training package will provide an introduction to the methodology as well as describe it step by step for users of the methodology It will also include instructions and tips for using the methodology

Four Policy briefs with main recommendations per target group

This deliverable will consist of 4 policy briefs each bringing together key lessons and policy recommendations targeting key stakeholders for the advancement of energy citizenship (i.e. practitioners, national decision-makers and EU officials).

Prospective energy citizenship scenarios with recommendations

The energy citizenship scenarios co-created by citizens will be further developed and finalised by experts, who will translate them into actionable policy-relevant prospective scenarios for further support and transformation of energy citizenship. Scenarios will be complemented by targeted recommendations for effective implementation of measures that enhance and strengthen energy citizenship at the EU, national and local level. Attention is given to the COVID-19 situation and Green Deal to make Europe’s economy sustainable, fair and inclusive.

Publication of meta-analysis report

This deliverable will be the summary or meta-analysis report of the 40 in-depth energy citizenship cases. In addition, it will include an Annex consisting of the individual case study reports, each, following the same template (and also published attached to the online energy citizenship map).

Energy citizenship empowerment toolkit

This deliverable will provide a visual tool for empowerment of citizens as energy citizens and a training workshop tool for initiatives and organisations to support empowered energy citizenship.

Enhancing the transformative agency of energy citizenship

This deliverable contains a validated tool for enhancing the transformative agency of energy citizenship via business model innovation, social innovation and strategic alliances

Economic-transactional aspects of energy citizenship cases

This deliverable includes a map of economic-transactional aspects of energy citizenship cases and conclusions about enhancing the positive impact of energy citizenship types

Analysis of the online survey and citizen consultations

The report will summarise the input and findings from the EU-wide online survey with 10,000 respondents, and the discussions at the 9 national citizen consultations, on which pro-active energy citizenship scenarios will be co-created.

The role of ICT platforms in shaping energy citizenship

This deliverable provides a report on the role of ICT platforms in shaping communitylevel selfconsumption demand response and P2P energy trading within energy communities

Methodology for meta-analysis of energy citizenship

Document summarising the methodology used for reviewing energy citizenship including details of the data collection tool

Feedback report on knowledge exchange workshops

This deliverable will gather the outcomes and feedback received in the national and European knowledge exchange workshops. It will support the update of the recommendation working paper for the finalisation of the policy proposals.

Project final conference

A public dissemination event held at the end of the project to present final results and promote exploitation.
