This deliverable will provide results of the literature review on public trust in science Theoretical papers and empirical research from different disciplines eg social psychology educational psychology philosophy as well as Eurobarometer survey data and broader relevant literature eg on cultural differences and trust will be reviewed to identify the factors that affect societal trust in science and sciencesociety co creation This deliverable will present results of a stateoftheart literature review reflecting the current knowledge on the factors that influence publics trust in science and will identify gaps in our current understanding
Validation report of the VERITY Protocol (si apre in una nuova finestra)Deliverable D4.3 will provide results of task T4.3 conducted with the aim of validating the VERITY protocol, seeking to ensure its practical utility and the reliability of its proposals.
VERITY Synthesis Report (si apre in una nuova finestra)Deliverable D4.1 will provide a synthesis of the findings about the effectiveness of methods and tools to build trust in science. The report will categorise such methods and tools by reference to the different stewards of trust, as well as by reference to each of the ‘5 machines’ of trust in science. This report will provide outcomes of task T4.1 and will inform the development of the VERITY protocol in task T4.2.
Policy brief 2 (si apre in una nuova finestra)As policy makers play a crucial role in facilitating public trust, VERITY will develop two policy briefs and submit as deliverables. D5.3 will be issued in M36 targeting this specific stakeholder group.(please note, as discussed with Partner, the coordinator will be working together with F6S to prepare this deliverable)
Report on the results of the focus groups with stewards of trust (si apre in una nuova finestra)D3.2 will present outcomes of three focus groups with stewards of trust organised under task T3.2. It is foreseen that one national event will be organised in Austria, Greece and Ireland by the relevant project partners. Each focus group will be built around a topical and controversial topic in science (such as vaccination or transition to carbon neutrality) and will involve the participation of minimum ten (10) organisations representing different stewards of trust.
The VERITY Protocol (si apre in una nuova finestra)Deliverable D4.2 will present a protocol for different stewards of trust that will consider the significance of numerous factors for upholding societal trust in science and facilitating science-society co-creation. The VERITY protocol will include concrete recommendations and guidance about the conducive institutional governance arrangements and the facilitative policy environments within which the different stewards of trust, either in the public or the private sector, can flourish and fulfil their role successfully.
Report on the strategies, methods, and tools to tackle societal mistrust in science (si apre in una nuova finestra)Deliverable D31 will outline results of task T31 identifying and categorising the most relevant strategies methods and tools to increase societal trust in science research and innovation
Report on the vignette study (si apre in una nuova finestra)D3.3 will present results of the vignette study planned as part of task T3.3, where short case studies will be drawn up under the guidance of ZSI and presented to identified survey respondents who will rate their relevance according to their personal views.
