Optimization of industry flexibility to increase integration of renewables: a case study (si apre in una nuova finestra)Two scenarios per use case will be defined: (i) a status quo, with associated carbon footprint and energy consumption per unit of product, to be used for benchmarking, and (ii) a prospective scenario with techno-economic evaluations based on expected transition paths of the regional energy mix in line with the EUs emission reduction targets by 2030. The cost reduction, carbon reduction potential per unit of output, and increased share of renewables in the energy mark of the products, will be evaluated for each use-case over the defined scenarios. Detailed constraints at case level will be defined to reduce the complexity of the optimization.
