Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GoGreen (GOGREEN: GREEN STRATEGIES TO CONSERVE THE PAST AND PRESERVE THE FUTURE OF CULTURAL HERITAGE)
Periodo di rendicontazione: 2022-10-01 al 2023-09-30
1. Define parameters for what constitutes green conservation to influence the creation of sector-wide standards.
In the reporting period 1, we have conducted numerous meetings at the consortium, work package, and cluster levels to initiate discussions on the formulation of green parameters. This is a continuous endeavor throughout the project. For more information, please refer to the detailed explanation of task 8.3 provided below. More details will follow in the deliverable 8.3 in M30.
2. Develop preventive conservation practices and a decision-making model that utilizes ‘green thinking’ in Conservation.
Various models to determine damage functions for cultural heritage materials in indoor environments have been set-up and distributed within the framework of WP2. The preparation for a workshop on green thinking for decision making took place in the RP1.
3. Develop and introduce green innovative materials and methods inspired by historical recipes and methods, biological processes and green chemistry practices.
Selection of methods and models based on literature, historical sources and surveys are ongoing in the WP3 and WP4 according to the project planning.
4. Create a digital web-app that helps conservators evaluate the environmental impact of their actions and supports their search for greener alternatives. Collection of data and definition of end user requirements
To create a digital web-app, data collection and the definition of end-user requirements have been implemented in the RP1.
5. Empower practitioners by creating a sector-wide paradigm shift, making green thinking the daily standard in conservation
Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation strategy plan from WP8 was written and put into action. Project website and social media accounts has started functioning and spreading the GoGreen message.
