In 2023 Spring, 25 fellows were selected for the I4WORLD doctoral programme. They represent nine different nationalities, ten of them are women and 15 men. The I4WORLD programme includes individual scientific training given under expert supervision together with partner companies and academic organizations.
The fellows have started the four-year doctoral training consisting of studies, research, secondments and thesis. Tens of research publications and conference presentations have been realised and number of interdisciplinary research visits have been taken place.
Doctoral researchers will undertake secondment (minimum of 6 months) with the Associated Partners and complete mandatory course training addressing sustainable development, dissemination, communication, business, innovation and gender and diversity issues.
Research projects of the fellows involve collaboration of top-level researchers from the UOULU and partner organizations. Partner organizations are committed to provide support in training, supervision and hosting secondments. Intersectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration ensures the coverage of the training in imaging and characterization methods for unique toolbox for the future research leader career.
