Propellant selection for VHP Hall thruster characterization testing

The document will provide the trade-off analysis of the propellant options (Xe, Kr, Ar, N2) including aspects related to performance, cost, system, integrability, mission analysis, criticalities vs facilities/health issues, etc

Outlook for a sustainable approach to lifetime qualification of very high power, long-life Hall thrusters

The document will present the recommendations for a short, cost-effective and robust qualification of a very high power thruster based on the outcomes of the project studies.

Data Management Plan

The document will describe the partners data management processes, agreed rules and criteria adopted for the data exchange and exploitation on the various activities.

Scientific paper on testing of VHP thrusters with the AEDP diagnostics set-up

In this paper, the AEPD diagnostic set-up used for VHP thrusters will be described and the data acquired in the test campaigns on VHP thrusters presented. The data will be analysed and discussed with special emphasis on the high thermal load imposed on the diagnostic tools by the VHP thrusters.

System level impact on spacecraft and required HET performance for VHP thrusters

Based on previous mission analyses, a specification of VHP thursters (use duration,…) is provided.

Scientific paper on diagnotics for VHP

Experimental outcomes, discussions on techniques, wear processes, thruster lifetime at high power and conclusions will be published in high-rank scientific journals and in well-established conference proceedings, for instance International Electric Propulsion Conference, AIAA Energy and Propulsion Forum and Space Propulsion conference.

Power systems architecture trade-off report

This document lists and compares different power architectures compatible with the different missions based on EDDA and CHEOPS-VHP tests.

Probabilistic Failure Analysis for selected mission scenarios

The document will present the comprehensive wear out analysis and failure risk for the most intended mission applications.

Architecture options for VHP Hall thruster design

The document will present the detailed analysis of the thruster (both for anode and cathode assemblies) design options, including the identification of the existing or to be further developed industrial solutions and manufacturing techniques
