Demonstration of 6-way DNA strand displacement reactions (opens in new window)6-way DNA strand displacement reactions are demonstrated on DNA origami substrates. The speeds of 30 individual reactions are determined in solution and on surfaces in order to identify specific effects of surface immobilization.
Cost efficient folding of DNA nanostructures (opens in new window)An optimized protocol for low-cost folding of DNA origami nanostructures is developed that employs a minimum amount of staple strands in DNA origami assembly and enables the recycling of unincorporated staple strands after purification.
Basic characterisation of nanostructure using AFM (opens in new window)Reproducible imaging of molecular bumps embedded within the DNA origami nanostructures is demonstrated. Relatively non-invasive (soft) AFM imaging modes are employed in order maximize the resilience of the molecular bits to the repetitive reading process.
