Obiettivo "Discovery 2010 is the 5th ""science/party night"" in Amsterdam organized by the Very Disco Foundation.On 24 September 2010 from 22:00pm-04:00am, a surprising scientific location will be filled with over 1500 young people who enjoy fascinating science, new music, the latest technologies, stimulating art and bright ideas. This is specifically brought to them by members of their own generation in a fresh trendsetting party atmosphere.To celebrate our 5th birthday, Discovery 2010 will organize a two day festival starting at Thursday evening September 23rd, followed by a sneak preview and scientist meet and greet for high school students on Friday afternoon and culminating in the European Researchers Night, the main focus of the festival, on the night of September 24th. In this night, visitors will encounter over 30 program activities, hosted by over 100 young scientists, artists and the like. Discovery 2010 as a festival will focus on expanding and strengthening our network, deepening collaborations with Dutch scientific institutions and implementing Discovery and the European Researchers Night in the cultural field of the Netherlands.Very Disco aims to improve the image of the scientist by repeatedly showing young, fresh scientists to the audience. Discovery 2010 will showcase these scientists and their work, in a fresh mix with young artists, new art, film, games, music and new ideas, in a party atmosphere at a unique location. The visitors of the Researchers' Night and the festival itself are our first, but not our only target audience. Next to them, we will aim our communication campaign at a broad audience through national media attention and communication activities. While 1500 people will be present at the Researcher's Night itself, a multiple of that number will see, hear or read about young scientists organising a trendy and unique party night."
