12 completed PhD examinations

Training Deliverable D56 12 PhD examinations completedPostponed reasons initialy month 48During the Covid19 situation and especially the lockdown all facilities and university labs were closed for several months Mars June in every country of Europe The consortium managed to carry on supervising the ESRs remotely and through regular meetings with ESRs trying to limit the impact of this exceptional situation on their thesis Thus they advised ESRs to continue working on their thesis from home focusing on data analysis and planning for publications Nevertheless for all ESRs the completion of their PhD work is dependent on lab work Results obtained from experiments are also crucial for publications As a result almost all the 12 ESRs will need one extra year to finish their PhD theses and complete their PhD examinations

Training Deliverable D55 A policy document about structuring training in structural biology in Europe for consideration by the Supervisory Board Postponed reasons initialy month 48Given the Covid19 lockdown and the subsequent delay in completion of all other deliverables it makes sense to push back the deadline for this deliverable This will allow us time to make the most considered assessment of the training programme and put us in the best position to complete this policy document
