White paper on policies for inclusion of social robots in healthcare processes covering ethical and legal dimensions (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Social robots are already being commercialized and proposed for a number of services including receptionists and companions. Healthcare processes, however, pose several concerns, demands and risks that must be understood and clear policies must be developed in this respect. The white paper will advance some proposals in this innovative area. (task 5.1)

Guideline report for SME - end-user co-production collaboration (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

How can robot building industries incorporate the visions of users regarding the new social reality including care robots? Users and technicians will work together (task 3.3) in a holistic design process to promote understanding on collaboration and guidance for future projects.

Best practices in using care robots in the medical and institutionalised care provision (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Can care robots provide any advantage in relation to human care? Can they even be close to the well accepted “warm hands” care? This document will present a number of best-practices when a robot is to be used as a care assistant in medical and institutionalized care settings.(tasks 4.2 – main responsible, and 4.3)

This document will be an monthly updated report with all the workshops and events that have been organised by the project partners during the secondments. Also it will incorporate the events and conferences where the project has been disseminated. (task 6.1)

Manual for training of care staff on the interplay between medical/social care provision and social robots (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Training materials and a user guide will be produced to help institutions on the adoption of care robots both for research projects and new services in care institutions. (tasks 4.2, 4.3 – main responsible, and 4.4)

A study on domestication and sociotechnical imaginaries of social robots (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

This deliverable will consist of a white paper on the findings from tasks 3.1 and 3.2 which define studies where the robot will become a new member of the household. Not just a technological innovation but a companion. This relationship will not only be defined by the social structure but will also create new relationships and social concepts. Techno-demographic challenges will be seen in a wide societal context using STS analysis of the sociotechnical imaginaries.

Multi-Objective Action Planning for Robots in Health Environments (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Social behaviour is usually a concept used to classify human reactions in group situations. In LIFEBOTS Exchange the robots will be seen as participants in the social fabric, interacting with humans and eventually with other robots. Task 2.3 will explore the possibilities and define procedures to provide robots with social skills to make them fit to participate in a complex environment that is the one related to healthcare.

Results on User Experience related to the use of care robots in real family care scenarios (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Testing robots is labs gives valuable insight in relation to technological issues, but real life experience and knowledge can only be obtained from direct interaction with users in their daily life. Probably the most challenging task of the LIFEBOTS Exchange, bringing robots to the home of users will also be one of the most exciting. How will users react to the presence of the new participant in the daily chores? What will be their expectations and fears? The results from interviews with real users will be reported in this deliverable. (task 4.4)

Dissemination and Communication plan and materials (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

This document will outline the dissemination plan to be followed for the overall duration of the project. More specifically, the report initially will identify the stakeholders to be targeted and the most appropriate means to approach each one of them. The report will present the dissemination activities planned, such as attending and organising events (i.e. workshops, conferences, briefings and open days), circulating frequent newsletters, publishing press releases, etc. Furthermore, the report will presents the dissemination material prepared, such as logo design, design of promotional material (poster, leaflets, etc.) and the project website. (task 7.1)

A project website will be design in the first month of the project. The project website will be one of the communication tools for the project consortium. It will contain the project aim, partners and expected results. The website will be updated with blog posts, events, plan for secondments and news about the project. (task 7.1)

Plugin Software for ROS-based Navigation Stacks to control Robot Attitude in Social Environments (öffnet in neuem Fenster)

This deliverable consists of a software module that will act as a proof of concept for the principles delineated in D2.2Note: Deliverables 2.1 to 2.3 are supported by the release of open-source software.
