Next Generation refrigeration Technology based on vacuum rapid cooling

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - V-Chiller (Next Generation refrigeration Technology based on vacuum rapid cooling)

Berichtszeitraum: 2019-09-01 bis 2020-02-29

Almost all modern refrigeration relays on A technology called (Vapor compression) invented two centuries ago, although this technology come long way since its invention in the matter of cost and efficiency yet it is slowly approaching its theoretical efficiency limitation, it has a very slow cooling speed and even more importantly, the huge negative environmental impact from the usage of High Global warming potential (GWP) and high Ozone depletion potential (ODP) refrigerants.
Slow cooling causes huge amount of food and energy waste globally and in order to rapidly cool perishable food products manufacture usually relies on a very energy intensive, expensive way of cooling called cryogenic cooling.

V-Chiller developed a game changing refrigeration technology that offers for the very first-time rapid cooling that can reach 20X cooling speed of vapor compression, totally eco-friendly (Zero GWP or ODP) and can reach Cryogenic temperature (-40C to -60C) without much modification.
And at comparable Coefficient of performance (COP) and cost, V-Chiller can replace the centuries old Vapor compression technology with a faster, eco-friendlier and affordable technology that can offer huge impact specially for the food & beverage industry in the whole cold chain from harvest to transportation, storage to retail.
Rapid cooling would promise huge cut in food waste since V-Chiller can make rapid cooling fridges more affordable and accessible to larger sectors that previously wasn’t possible that will result in fresher and safer products to customer, less energy consumption for manufactures replacing blast chillers that is very energy intensive and all with less environmental impact and pollution
- Technology Assessment
Running Controlled lab test along with production environment test, assessing the actually cooling capacity and speed of the technology, measure the COP for different refrigerants,
analyzing the adaptability, the environmental impact, cost, safety and availability of each refrigerant in different environments

- Building MVP:
Building a Minimal Viable product to run the tests, checking material compatibility against each refrigerant, assess the BOM and check which can be built in-house and which will need be bought ready-made.

- Market analysis and Validation:
Conducting a wide research on our target market, analysis future trends, market opportunities, observe customers’ needs and finalize our market segments and potential customers list.
Assessing different industries that needs rapid cooling and/or environmentally friendly refrigeration methods.

- Financial Planning and analysis:
Analyzing current expenses, assess the highest cost parts and define a path to bring the cost down.
- Developing non-flammable, zero GWP & ODP refrigerant blend
- Explored multiple other application for V-Chiller technology in the food & Beverage industry
- Rapid cooling would promise huge cut in food waste since V-Chiller can make rapid cooling fridges more affordable and accessible to larger sectors that previously wasn’t possible that will result in fresher and safer products to customer, less energy consumption for manufactures replacing blast chillers that is very energy intensive and all with less environmental impact and pollution.
