In the global world that we live in, packages are everywhere, from mails, supermarkets, pharma to electronics. Grand scale packaging requires costly machines to assemble, fill, seal, label and code. A large part of the operational costs is related to pneumatic actuators, the core components that are in charge of moving and controlling a machine system. Pneumatic actuators are slow and very energy consuming, so their replacement with a more sustainable solution is widely considered a priority for the industrial world. KOMP-ACT wants to reduce the energy costs for the automation industry and its carbon footprint by up to 49 millions tons of CO2 per year introducing Modula, the world’s very first fully integrated electric actuators within the same price range and with the same dimensions and lightweight of pneumatics ones, but is also time-saving, energy efficient and programmable.
