For the equivalent monopole method the transmission is exactly described by a so called Greens function ie a measurement or simulation of the frequency response between a monopole source strength and acoustic pressure at a receiving point Field measurements will be performed of Greens functions for a few selected cases on rail vehicles standstill conditions and used to validate the numerical models provided by ISVRVTC
Validation of acoustic performance of new design variantsDocument with the comparison between experimental and simulations results for the selected design including an assessment of their potential for future development and recommendations on the steps to take towards application in railway vehicles This will include an assessment of the potential for dBA and weight reductionThis document report will also report on experimental activities planned in Task 42
Track versus vehicle separation and transposition techniques including theoretical description and proposal for full scale validation test campaignEnhancements and simplifications to each proposed method will be developed in this task to improve their accuracy while reducing cost and increasing practicality Key requirements are the ability to provide an accurate estimation of the contribution of the vertical and lateral rail vibration the sleeper vibration and the wheel vibration in onethird octave bands as well as overall dBA level
Validated procedure for source characterization based on equivalent monopoles and tests involving generic sources.Validated procedure for source characterization based on equivalent monopoles and tests involving generic sources.Specification of information required to define source strengths and directivity for implementation in the global noise modelling tool.
Acoustic performance characterization of baseline and new design variantsDocument with the simulation results for the acoustic performance characterization of the baseline situation and the new designs
Project Quality PlanDocument with a set of project templates, explanations on the project management process, review process, quality checks, meeting organisation, which is communicated to all partners
State of the art, strategy for enhancing separation techniques. In Roll2Rail a number of techniques were developed by the current partners for separating track and wheel noise components and these were evaluated in a field test. Based on the proposed requirements, strategies for enhancing each separation method will be defined by each partner. Hybrid methods combining more than one approach will also be considered.
Equivalent monopole source data for at least two selected sources. The equivalent monopole method and the 3D imaging technique IBF described in T11 will be applied on a selected set at least two of real sources eg a traction motor a HVAC fan unit and a transformer The final selection should be decided by the complementary project S2RCFMCCA012019
Report with final analysis of pass-by source separation results and uncertainty analysis; Innovative separation techniques: validation test resultsResults from the measurement campaigns in Task 23 as well as the outcome from tests of the methods in Task 22 will be considered to validate and to assess the methods This will also include final assessment of uncertainties
Report on State of the art, strategy and requirements for new separation techniquesA number of methods for source separation were already applied in the past and have delivered results of different quality. The development of new techniques which present improvements and benefits in comparison to these techniques needs to be based on a detailed review of the state of the art.
Innovative separation techniques: theoretical description and validation testing campaign proposal. Methods that are identified to be feasible in Task 21 will be adapted and improved Where necessary additional software implementation and tests are carried out
Feasibility study of new concepts and approachesDocument with the results of the feasibility study, including a brief description of all approaches, designs and methods considered with an assessment of strengths and weaknesses and a final recommendation for the two preferred approaches.
Measurement planDocument with a complete preliminary description of the measurement campaigns (for WP1, WP2 and WP3), including locations, vehicles, (target) schedule and a detailed description of the measurements and associated requirements.
Data Management PlanDocument describing procedure to ensure the proper management of all data produced by and used by the partners. Final version.
Framework and guidelines for open access to data and toolsThis task will provide a framework to organize the possibility for open access to data and software tools that are generated within the TRANSIT project in accordance with the DMP developed in Task 55
Documented measurement plan and database of raw and processed dataMeasurement campaigns will be planned and performed in cooperation with the complementary project S2RCFMCCA012019 seeking efficiencies by data sharing between partners and WPs and preselected methods
Track versus vehicle separation and transposition techniques conclusions, recommendations and validation test resultsField measurements will be carried out to test and validate the proposed separation procedures The complementary project S2RCFMCCA012019 will define and give access to vehicles and tracks to be used for this purpose it is expected that this will take into account the requirements defined in D32
Estimation of uncertainties in the global noise modelling tool. The results from Tasks 1113 will be implemented in the global modelling tool developed by ISVR in Acoutrain 15 and used to estimate uncertainties
Validation of source and transmission models on a rail vehicle at stand-still.The validation will be done for a stationary rail vehicle on which sources at least two characterized under Task 12 are operated The radiated sound will be measured for different operating conditions and compared with the global model Task 14
Dissemination, communication and exploitation reportThis task will carry out communications and knowledge sharing activities to promote widespread awareness on the project at European level The knowledge produced by the project partners will be promoted through different dissemination channels
