Despite the period of the pandemic COVID-19, all CEMBO goals have been achieved successfully. In total, 17 projects meetings took place (remotely or in presence); 10 expert visits have been organized at CU and 11 staff exchanges were performed in all 3 countries. CEMBO project has fulfilled the activities to the full extent. Some of the activities, due to circumstances, have been organized on the online platform, which have improved technical skills at CU. Therefore, financially wise, we were allowed to organize extra activities in the last year 2023 focused on experimental work of young researchers, as well as brainstorming in the research management area (Workshop “Conventional and alternative approaches combating antimicrobial resistance” declared in the section 5 of the Technical Report B).
- Building scientific excellence: in the past three years of CEMBO, the CU team continued in the research of biofilms that is actual topic related to human health. The CU Team has obtained more skills and experiences. The quality of this research has been proven in numerous presentations during conferences, workshops, and several published manuscripts (as per listed in the Technical Report B).
Other CEMBO activities, which have helped to increase the credibility and potential abilities of the CU Team as per following:
- Transfer of expertise: research visits, international conference, workshops, training schools, face to face meetings, staff exchanges, expert visits and mutual discussions have been a crucial part of cooperation to connect practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Transfer of scientific results in the community (team or individual participation at international and national conferences; organization of other events mentioned above; creation of virtual laboratory visits and interactive laboratory manual at CU; career options of CEMBO team members, etc.);
- Transfer and collaboration between academic and private sector (inclusion of MoKi Analytics GmbH in several ways as linked third party to CHAR);
- Improvement of training technical management staff (participation in CEMBO workshops; international conference; webinars and trainings at national and European level; connections with peers, etc.).
- Searching for possibilities, ways of communication and transfer (creation of CEMBO homepage; social media CEMBO and partners’ platforms; and other CEMBO activities listed above). A transparent communication with the public has been set up; a visual platform (instructional videos, an animation, interactive manual) have been created and offered to the public audience.
