The deliverable will include information on primary and aged aerosols and UFPs from the exhaust of a ship diesel engine, a medium duty gas engine and the jet engine combustor test rig.
Report on mechanisms of effects from transport mode emissions (si apre in una nuova finestra)"This deliverable will report on the mechanisms of adverse effects from transport mode emissions, and what emission characteristics are the main drivers of biological effects, icluding the importance of the ""Torjan Horse"" effect. The deliverable will be based on predictions made from biostatistical analysis in T6.1, whihc will be further tested and validated in T6.2 and T6.3."

The deliverable will include information on effects in models composed with primary cells from female vs. male donors exposed directly or indirectly to UFPs / supernatants from different sources.
Report on importance of sex for in vivo effects transport emissions (si apre in una nuova finestra)In this deliverable, we provide information on how sex-related differences affect the sensitivity to transport emission exposure. Selected aersol sources will be used in this approach and the results will be assessed for further validation of the health effects and link the results to D5.1 and D5.2.
Report on model aerosols and UFPs characteristics for testing of hypotheses and Trojan horse effects (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will elucidate the role of cellular sensors of organic chemicals and redox sensitive pathways using in vitro tests with model UFPs. In addition the results on the investigation of the Trojan horse effect of UFPs will be described.
Report on particles/ particle components and cell mediators (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will provide a complete characterization of conditioned cell culture medium from CAST generated particles exposed lung tissues The deliverable will include information on UFP translocation particle adhered chemicals and cytokine chemokines released by lung cells
Characterization of selected policies (si apre in una nuova finestra)This delivery will describe a set of inter- and intrasectional transportation policy options that have been selected for health benefit analysis. The selection is based on hazard and exposure ranking of the emissions that the policy will impact. Description of the policies will include, among others, a priori assumptions, selection criteria and changes in emissions.

The deliverable will include information on 3D cultures of human intestine cultures exposed directly to CAST generated particles or to conditioned medium from particle exposed lung tissue.

Report on ALI-based in vitro inhalation toxicity testing strategy for multi-tissue effects, validated by in vivo studies (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will optimize the protocols to evaluate effects in secondary organ tissue models using supernatans from lung tissues exposed to CAST generated particles. The deliverable will apply the protocols to compare indirect effects of supernatants collected from different source-exposed lung-tissues in secondary organ tissue models.

The deliverable will include information on aerosols and UFPs from vehicle brake emissions and rail caternary sparkling.
Report on in vivo validation of in vitro biological effects (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will report the findings from in vivo exposures with different aerosol sources and compare them with the gathered information on the in vitro expereriments. The information will be used for reporting the validity of in vitro findings in whole organism, to build a link to health effects by the exhaust aerosol UFPs.
Report on CAST-generated UFP effects (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will report on dosymetry considerations and chemical composition related to both primary and secondary (geno)toxicological effects of UFPs. The deliverable will provide information on CAST-generated model emisssions in lung tissue models at ALI.
Report on final event, scientific publications and project results (si apre in una nuova finestra)This deliverable will report the final list of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals derived from and acknowledging the EC support to the project, the most relevant communications to scientific meetings.
