Objetivo
The skills of trainers in the further education (FE) sector are vital in ensuring that learners qualify with skills that are relevant to industry. The identification of the training needs of these trainers is essential for the purpose of developing their skills. The development of a European training system for FE trainers is the main aim of this pilot project. This will be achieved by:
- undertaking a strategic analysis of the changing socio-economic context for learners and trainers in the FE sector;
- designing and implementing a framework for the identification of the training needs of trainers;
- designing an evaluation process for existing training programmes;
- using these products to inform the design of FE programmes;
- and setting up a continuous cycle of identification of trainer's needs.
Materials produced by the partners will be disseminated and articles will be published in the appropriate journals. In addition a national conference will be organised for the providers of training to trainers.
Impact
The programme will help improve FE provision in partner countries through the development of policy recommendations about the shape of FE in general and the training of trainers in particular.
