Nmr structural biology in life sciences in the post-genomic era

Obiettivo

Description:

The Infrastructure Cooperation Network on "NMR Structural Biology in Life Sciences in the Post-Genomic Era" involves 12 participating groups drawn from four Large Scale Facilities implemented in the 4th Framework Programme and supported also in the 5th FP, five user group representatives, one manufacturing company of NMR instrumentation and two eminent scientists from USA.

The Infrastructure Cooperation Network aims at monitoring and improving the quality and quantity of access to the networked infrastructures. Reports on this point are produced yearly. To enhance the performance of the networked infrastructures, improvements for technological and methodological tools will be pursued. They will be made available to the users of the infrastructures in order to make the provided service more time- and cost-effective, and to improve the quality of the results achieved at the facilities.

A virtual network will be established connecting the networked laboratories, in order to speed up the spreading of good practices and methodologies implemented in each laboratory. It will also constitute a frame for the diffusion of the results achieved in the activities of the network.

Finally, the network will also tackle the issue of increasing the quantity of access, by fostering a culture of collaboration and cooperation among European laboratories within the frame of post-genomic research. The wave of the structural genomics programs will presumably invest the LSFs.
