Flexible automatic controllable tool-changer

Cel

The realized systems on the basis of the modular construction system of various kinds of machine tools resulted in following aspects:
With the developed functional units there is no problem of putting together a handling system
- which can easily be adapted to various kind of machine tools,
- rapid toolchange time ó 4s,
- usable for vertical and/or horizontal spindle,
- compact construction and easy integration in a machine tool,
- combination with several magazines depending on the required number and size of tools or palettes
- limited expenditure of extending the basic system to a more complex system for tool- and/or workpiece handling tasks and
- minimizing expenditure and costs by the usage of identical or similar parts and functional units.

The tool handling tasks
- toolmagazine <---> spindle,
- toolmagazine <---> toolmagazine and
- toolmagazine <---> tool providing place outside of the machine tool as well as the workpiece handling tasks
- machine tool <---> workpiece magazine and
- machine tool <---> automatical workpiece supply
are achieved by the developed system. The developed modular software also minimizes the software expenditure of integrating a toolchanger or handling system into a machine tool and a optimum sequence can be guaranteed.

Therefore the objectives and requirements are achieved with the developed system.
