Cel The objectives of this proposal are to develop techniques and strategies for reducing the use of agro-chemicals by using spatially localised treatments and to develop prototypes. The general concept is to modify a conventional vehicle to : - locate and identify patches of weeds and soil properties; - to develop activators to apply mechanical and chemical treatments selectively, and; - a control system to implement control on application strategies. Prototypes for grass weed patches in cereals and weeds in row crops, such as tomatoes, will be developed.
