Report on Sustainability assessment methodology

Report the describes the Sustainability assessment methodology, underpinned by fully EU PEFCR compliant LCA methodology, supported by aquaculture specific and locally contextualised indicators related to biodiversity impacts.

Report detailing the physicochemical and molecular characteristics of the main targeted biomasses produced in WP2. Report on the amounts and compositional properties of the effluents of various FWAS studied in SAFE for assessing their quality and quantity as substrates for the production of fish feed components and to form a baseline for further downstream processes and models in the Cobalia IoT software.

Report on microalgae production in liquid RAS waste

Report on the optimization of microalgal cultivation in liquid freshwater RAS effluent to produce bioflocculating material for microalgal harvesting and lipid-rich biomass for fish feed.

Report on the bioactive properties of the produced biomasses

Report of the in vitro assessment of the bioactive properties of the biomasses produced in WP2. The report will provide evidence that the biomasses may enhance fish resistance to biological and environmental hazards, beneficial for the improvement of fish performance.

Assessment of other applications for the produced biomasses

Report on the other possible applications of the produced biomasses based on their characteristics and bioactive properties to increase the sustainability and profitability of FW aquaculture.

Improved processing of solid aquaculture residues using innovative technologies

Industrial scale Waister dryer for fish sludge installed at freshwater aquaculture site for demonstration of drying system with transcritical CO2 heat pump integration. This innovative technology will substantially reduce power consumption and eliminate consumption of cooling water compared to previous drying on freshwater aquaculture sludge. This installation will also provide samples of dried freshwater fish sludge evaluation as an ingredient for mushroom substrates to WP1 (Task 2.2, D 2.3).
