Free movement and equal living opportunities for all

Cel

The LIVINGALL project is aimed at increasing the free movement of people with disabilities and accessibility of all persons to the global European labour market. To provide decision makers with tools and methodologies for benchmarking and overcoming obstacles that will help make free movement policies for the disabled more effective. One of the basic problems this issue is confronted with though, is the problem of lack of data of the current status of policy implementation and approaches to improve freedom of movement in leading regions and what the existing barriers across Europe are for people with disabilities. Currently, some European countries are implementing measures to eliminate or reduce the barriers that hinder movement of disabled persons. They have developed large, diverse and divergent groups of policies, so it's necessary to analyse, identify and map them to the different kind of disabilities and to evaluate their practical application and success. The best and most effective measures of these and other advanced regions and states could be replicated and implemented in other less advanced regions, as new Member States. The collaboration among the partner countries will ensure a transfer of knowledge on this issue from the more advanced nations to the rest. It is crucial to learn not only from the success of others, and replicate these factors, but also from their mistakes by not wastefully duplicating resources in areas that have been tried, tested and found not to be productive. The learning from the best practices is clearly the fastest way to harmonise and benchmark the standards that will create a level playing field for the disabled free movement across Europe. For achieving this goal, the lack of policies, technical solutions and/or social initiatives and their main barriers could not be left apart. That's why a large consortium has been formed, to ensure his capacity to identify and analyse them, and to offer new solutions...
