Report on CDE activities (2)

The overall objectives of the communication, dissemination, and exploitation (CDE) strategy are grounded in the project’s core values, which are to improve research and development in AF, thereby increase attention on AF research and eventually improve AF treatment in Europe, as well as to train a new generation of innovative researchers in cardiology who feel at home in both industry and academia. The strategy will be described in the CDE plan, prepared by the Coordinator together with SB within the specifically designed WP and implemented with the help of all partners. The activities will bear in mind the project’s political, societal, scientific, and economical impacts, and build throughout the project to ensure that stakeholder communities are fully aware of the project’s progress and innovative capacity, and are engaged in the transfer and integration of the final results to the market product.

Website

In the consortium, we will fill the need and communicate new important knowledge concerning AF to a large audience as well as to specified domain-specific stakeholders. The following strategic access points will be used: An online presence that, in layman’s terms, treats the subject of AF, offers significant information, as well as additional, alternate resources for consideration (website, twitter, upload of videos to YouTube).

Career and Industry Day

Career & Industry Day. The idea of this unique short event is to make the fellows aware of and prepared for specific job opportunities in Europe, both in industry and academia. Best practices of successful job fairs, such as Talents in Germany (www.talents.de), will be taken into account for Career Day organisation. Hosted by the industry partner Acesion, this day will bring together a selection of potential employers from the pharmaceutical industry, applied research institutes, SMEs in e.g. numerical simulation together with the graduating AFib-TrainNet fellows. ESRs will get a clearer picture of career opportunities and challenges, direct contact to both small and large industrial actors and research institutes, and learn more about the different expectations and requirements associated with each. National Public-Private Partnerships (for instance, the European ScreeningPort in Germany, Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Norway, among many others) will be actively involved in the preparation of the event and its advertisement.

Synergy meeting

A Synergy workshop will be organised to present collective results of the entire project and extensively review the scientific and technological contributions made. The most important stakeholders from the global AF community, EU partners from relevant projects, decision makers, and research institutes will all be invited well in advance.

Open Research Data Pilot

AFib-TrainNet will participate in the Open Research Data Pilot and is fully committed to ensure the open access of relevant project results and data. All publications produced in the framework of the project will be either published in open access journals or self-archived using research data repositories.
