Finalreport evaluating the solutions developed under AEGIS in terms of the economic KPIs developed in Task 7.1. The full range of AEGIS case studies will be investigated. Economic data will be collected for all these case studies including their variants.
Methodology for safety and security analysisMethods for safety and security analyses applied in tasks 5.2 and 5.3 will be systemized and integrated into the SeaTonomy framework. This report will document the resulting safety and security analysis method.
Public policy recommendations for a new European waterborne transport systemReport investigating how introduction of innovative technologies proposed by AEGIS might disrupt present practise and drafting proposal for regulatory solutions to accommodate automation in short-sea shipping based also on the outcomes of the use-cases, focussing on three important policy dimensions: a)Security, providing alternative scenarios for issues raised pertaining to the ISPS Code; b)taxation, providing alternative means of prompting transition from road to water and introducing the option of investing in autonomous/unmanned vessels; c)standardization, ensuring that all parties involved in the logistics chain, including public authorities, share a common language with respect to autonomous maritime transport.
Handling export, import and security constraintsReport evaluating how import export and security constraints eg ISPS can be handled to improve efficiency in the new transport systems the usecases and how these measures best can be implemented
Environmental analysis - finalFinal report evaluating the solutions developed under AEGIS in terms of the environmental KPIs developed in Task 7.1. The full range of AEGIS case studies will be investigated. Environmental data will be collected for all case studies including their variants.
Policy implementation measures for a new European waterborne transport systemPolicy support and implementation measures to meet the overall objectives of Aegis.
Resilience in automated transport systemsInvestigates and quantifies improvements of transport system resilience after the redesign of the logistics system has been made usecases The theory is that a system with more and smaller ships will provide a system with higher resilience against disruptions being it due to environmental issues worsening climate technical defects in a ship or terminal equipment or hostile physical or cyberattacks
Public recommendations for waterborne transport to West Coast of NorwayCollects the experiences from use-case A, compares with the possible policy implements from WP6 and develops recommendations for how case A or a similar system can be implemented. Will be based on the results from task 8.3.
Social analysis - finalFinal report evaluating the solutions developed under AEGIS in terms of the social KPIs developed in Task 7.1. The full range of AEGIS case studies will be investigated. Social data will be collected for all case studies including their variants.
Data modelling status and requirementsReporting on requirements and status on updates to the ISO 28005 and IEC 61162 standards as well as work on other new standards developed in the AEGIS project. Due to copyright issues, these reports will not contain any significant parts of the actual standard texts.
Potential transfer from road transport to short-sea-shipping in DenmarkReport on the potential gross volume that can be shifted from road transport to shortseashipping in Denmark Includes analyses of the price structure for transportation of different types of goods by both road transport and shortsea shipping including an analysis of last mile final destination delivery
Win-win solutionsBased on the use-cases studied under WP8, WP9 and WP10, and the analyses performed in Tasks 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4, “win-win” solutions are identified, as well as the conditions for these solutions to be realized. A “win-win” solution is defined in terms of being acceptable in terms of most of the KPIs that have been identified.
Technology gaps and regulatory challenges in Danish cases-studiesDocumentation of technology gaps and regulatory challenges to improve efficiency in waterborne logistics based on the work with usecase C
Roadmap for automated waterborne transportCollects results from mainly WP2, WP6 and the-use cases to provide a public roadmap for redesign of more sustainable waterborne transport systems. Identifies the main solutions that can be used, describes benefits and possible costs and exemplifies these in some future transport systems, also on intercontinental transport.
Effects of standardized cargo unitsTo keep cargo handling equipment cost down it may also be necessary to reduce maximum total weight of each container and handle heavier cargo as special cargo The report will analyse possibilities for more use of standard cargo units eg standardize on 20 feet containers
Regulatory challenges for a new European waterborne transport systemReport on regulatory challenges associated with transition from road-based to automated maritime transport (short-sea shipping) based on the work with the use-cases.
Public recommendations for inland transport in Northern EuropeProvides a set of recommendations that are specific for use-case B. These will also feed into the general conclusions of WP6 and WP7.
Lessons in designing green and innovative terminals (multipurpose or intermodal) in SME ports.Case study from two Danish ports in designing multipurpose green terminals in smaller ports and intermodal semi or autonomous green terminals in medium ports by means of innovative technologies.
Accomplishment of a seminar on multipurpose terminals in small ports.
Seminar on Intermodal Autonomous Green Terminal in medium portsAccomplishment of a seminar on Intermodal Autonomous Green Terminal in medium ports.
Dissemination material No 3Production of high-quality graphical presentation material, including logos, illustration material, graphical layout of documents and more. The budget also includes resources for producing animations of one or more use-case concepts. These as well as web pages will be developed by professional third parties but maintained by the partners. Different means of communication will be used, like the AEGIS webpage, newsletters, and presentations at conferences, articles in newspapers and magazines and open stakeholder workshops.
