Coordination of Marine and Maritime Research and Innovation in the Black Sea

Data Management Plan

Although this project is not a research project, still data will be generated as a result of meetings, synthesis activities and operational network. The data management plan will specify these data types and a plan on how to curate and make available these data.

Report on agreed measures on medium and long term articulation beyond the CSA lifetime

Task 23 Implementation Plan Lead METUJust before the finalization of the Implementation Plan a detailed report on the measures for medium and longterm legacy of the SRIA will be also produced as a part of this task

Revised handbook of relevant Black Sea projects, initiatives and entities

The CSA will engage a wide range of projects initiatives and entities This deliverable will present the final revised handbook of relevant Black Sea projects initiatives and entities by M45

Project Management Guide (Handbook)

Task 1.1: Project management (Lead: METU), includes the activities for the creation and maintenance of a project management guide, including quality assurance procedures for the production of reports and other required deliverables, version control of documents, etc.

First draft of implementation plan

A first version of the Implementation Plan will be released at month 32 in order to have the time to discuss it and further develop via contributions from all the relevant groups The aim is to involve all stakeholders and interest groups identified under WP3 from the beginning achieving coownership and codesign of the Implementation Plan The ultimate goal is to have mature actions that are ready to compete for funding at a basin level at the end of the project In the Implementation Plan attention will be paid to avoid overlap with existing initiatives or projects and to focus on actions from which a high added value is expected in the Black Sea region It will also explore and provide recommendations on the most suitable cooperation mechanisms and tools to implement each particular action The specific nature and needs of each action will be considered in link with task 22 and also with WP3 Bilateral activities will be defined leading to multilateral cooperation in the Black Sea There will be two drafts of the Implementation Plan at month 32 and at the end on month 45 The first draft will be prepared by project partners in order to facilitate the next phase for all stakeholders The initial draft will be presented in the following HLB meeting with all stakeholders participating and actively contributing From then onwards and until the end of the project stakeholder involvement will be continuous

Visibility and Dissemination final report

Final integrated synthesis of Visibility and Dissemination activities will be presented as a part of this final report

Handbook of relevant Black Sea projects, initiatives and entities, including the modes of engagement

By the month 6 of the CSA a comprehensive list of linked entities projects associations and initiatives will be generated and put up in the Black Sea Blue Growth Initiative web site This document will be a living database that will be regularly updated and improved every six months In the first meetings of the Black Sea Blue Growth Initiative within the first 6 months a priority list of these undertakings and a roadmap for engagement will be worked out and a second stage will commence

Visibility and Dissemination mid-term Report

This deliverable will present an integrated view of the activities within Visibility and Dissemination.

Report on joint actions and their implementation status

This deliverable will synthesize the activities of Task 32 Transnational Joint Actions Lead BSEC The transnational joint actions will be concrete mutually agreed actions that will involve at least three of the riparian counties in the Black Sea The actions will serve to demonstrate in a pilot scale how blue growth research and innovation strategy will be implemented As soon as the Black Sea CONNECT is launched the efforts towards establishing joint actions will commence based on the first draft of the SRIA SRIA will indicate priority actions that the Black Sea Blue Growth Initiative prefers to have implemented The priorities based on past EU project results such as PERSEUS COCONET etc will also be considered The Black Sea CONNECT will develop proposals on the joint actions that will be approved and endorsed by the Black Sea WGGSO The Black Sea WGGSO in liaison with the Task Leader BSEC will facilitate the realization of the action The CSA will then build the mechanism to deliver the action to the community The topic of the actions will include at least three actions on three general themes As the main themes and basis for discussions education ecosystem and innovation are selected by the Black Sea CONNECT consortium based on the Burgas Vision Paper

First version of updated SRIA

There will be two updates of the SRIA, one 12 months after the launch of the project and one after 30 months. Both updates will act as vehicles for providing inputs to discussions with an aim for a successful construction of the Implementation Plan. Updates will be circulated at the national level after ratification by the Black Sea Blue Growth Initiative. The updated SRIA will address gaps, barriers and bottlenecks on innovation and new technologies, scientific knowledge, and sustainable development of marine and maritime economic sectors. It will also address multi-funding schemes and promote the public-private cooperation in research, innovation and technology development to boost marine and maritime blue economy.

Black Sea Marine Innovation Report

This deliverable will present the report Innovation for Blue Economy for the Black Sea to be produced as a part of Task 34A critical action of this task will be that stakeholders from science and research policymaking industry business and investment will be brought together at a thematic workshop or conference on innovation for sustainability and economic growth in the Black Sea to enhance communication and collaboration In link with WP4 a contest on marine innovation will be organized to further support development of novel ideas and application to the Black Sea region This event will lead to an innovation report and will support the Implementation Plan development

Report on Black Sea Young Ambassadors' Activities

Details of the Black Sea Young Ambassador Programme its activities and how the programme operated will be reported under this deliverable

Report on State of the art of Black Sea projects mapping and framework conditions

Building on the past and ongoing work of the Black Sea Initiative this deliverable will identify the gaps priorities and research and innovation needs to construct a comprehensive document that the SRIA builds on

Final version of Implementation Plan

There will be two drafts of the Implementation Plan at month 32 and at the end on month 45 The first draft will be prepared by project partners in order to facilitate the next phase for all stakeholders The initial draft will be presented in the following Black Sea WGGSO meeting with all stakeholders participating and actively contributing From then onwards and until the end of the project stakeholder involvement will be continuous Dedicated meetings will be organised every year at the national and international levels to develop a viable and effective Implementation Plan for the whole Black Sea region The final Implementation Plan will be presented and discussed in the Final Conference and delivered at the end of the CSA

Report on the activities on the operational network, its sustainability beyond the CSA and recommendations

This deliverable will be a followup and report on the final integrated activities on the operational network its sustainability beyond the CSA and recommendations

Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation Plan

In order to increase the dissemination and visibility of the results of Black Sea CONNECT, a dissemination, communication and exploitation Plan (DEP) will be generated .This plan will be a strategic document establishing the individual partner responsibilities and timelines, guidelines and suggestions for dissemination, under continuous monitoring of the WP lead partner.

Revised report on State of the art of Black Sea projects mapping and framework conditions

Building on the past and ongoing work of the Black Sea Initiative this deliverable will identify the gaps priorities and research and innovation need to construct a comprehensive document that the SRIA builds on The existing D21 deliverable will be revised updated and finalized with the new added deliverable D27

Report on the establishment of operational network, including a list of relevant funding agencies

Task 31 Operational Network of Funders and Key Players Lead METUWorking in close collaboration with Tasks 21 and 23 this task will first identify national and international actors to establish a comprehensive platform funders universities and research centres clusters SMEs NGOs investors and alike based on the pillars of the Burgas Vision Paper These national platforms will become actively involved in the operational Black Sea Network including those with priority in the investment the commercialization and the involvement of the industry sectors Public agencies and ministerial institutions will be an integral part of the platform as well This deliverable will report the detailed results of these activities The report will be delivered in coleadership with METU and NWIM RANEPA METU as the task lead will provide full support for the development of the Operational Network and the deliverable

Press Kit and Project Website

The Website will be a virtual platform for communicating and promoting the overall Black Sea CONNECT activities. It will be a vehicle for running and promoting the project, providing a platform for project partners and stakeholders interested in the project. This tool will provide the main features of the action (e.g. objectives, timeframe, funding etc.) in a clear and structured way. Print materials as brochure, booklets and thematic area fact sheets will also be produced as project dissemination material and their electronic version will be available on project website.
