This research programme is concerned with formal description and representation of syntactic, semantic and pragmatic features of processing words, such as particles, verbal prefixes, prepositions, conjunctions. An important issue of the project as a contribution to a processing grammar of Russian will be the formal processes entailing the particular meaning of such words in a given context. Results are published as dictionaries. Such words are described as traces of underlying operations whose scope depends on various data, giving rise to the different meanings of the word according to its context.
The research will deal with two classes of Russian words, discursive words and the verbal prefix. Concerning discursive words, the planned dictionary will provide within a systematic and compacted frame the syntactical, semantic and pragmatic features of a complex of words such as particles, adverbs and complex phrases which pay a central part in the organization of discourse. Each word will be presented as a whole article.
Within the class of verbal prefixes the goals are to determine the regularities of different meanings arising in composition with a verb or with a group of verbs. In any preliminary research the semantics of the verb must be taken into account. Further, its syntactic features have to be considered and appropriate means set up for automatic identification of a verb combined with a prefix.
