The European Commission, DG XXIII, has published an invitation to tender for an evaluation report on the Commission's action targeted at small and craft enterprises. This will involve, in particular, evaluating actions which have received a total of ECU 1 million between 1994 and 1997, in the following categories:

- Cross-border offices assisting small and craft enterprises in transnational business relations (6 actions);
- Studies identifying regional or sectoral problems in transnational business (11);
- Transnational cooperation projects, each involving approximately 20 businesses (23).
