Many users make first contact with online information services via ECHO. The European Commission Host Organization, set up in 1980, reports that some 60% of individuals or organizations newly registered for access are gaining their first experience of online data retrieval.
ECHO provides its 10,000 registered users with extensive support including training, seminars, a multilingual Help Desk, documentation, and other services.
