New Website for conformity assessment information
The TICQA project, launched originally by the European Commission (DG III and DG XIII) in 1991, aims to provide information on "Testing, Inspection, Certification and Quality Assurance" (TICQA) services within the European Union and EFTA countries. In order to achieve this, a database on European conformity assessment activities was developed by the European Organization for Testing and Certification (EOTC). The database covers 19 countries in total, and contains information on over 2,800 providers of conformity assessment services. A new Website, launched by the project coordinator (EOTC), provides access to an on-line version of this database and a wide range of other relevant information on providers of TICQA services. The on-line search engine provides quick and reliable search facilities, enabling the user to search by country, sector and activity. Other features of the Website include a help desk, information on new pilot projects and registration facilities for interested companies.
