In the framework of the Joint Research Centre's (JRC) support to the Euratom Safeguards Directorate (ESD) of the European Commission, DG XVII, the development of software to control nuclear measurement instrumentation and database applications to store the measurement results for subsequent performance evaluation is required. In order to complete this work the JRC has published an invitation to tender. The instrumentation in question includes non-destructive assay (NDA) systems based on gamma, neutron and calorimetry techniques. The database applications will also store measurement data coming from destructive analysis performed in nuclear chemical laboratories. Some applications have already been developed and the services requested may also include modification/maintenance of existing applications. The successful tenderer will be expected to: - Collaborate with the JRC Safeguards and Verification Techniques Unit and with ESD in the design and specification of the applications; - Programme applications in the environment and tools described above; - Install software systems in the working locations of the Commission and in nuclear facilities; - Provide training on the use and system administration of the systems which have been developed or modified by the tenderer.
