In a letter dated 28 August 1990, the Commission of the European Communities requested the Council's assent, pursuant to Article 55 (2) of the Treaty establishing the ECSC, to a memorandum on the establishment of a sixth ECSC programme of ergonomics research for the coal and steel industries. The Council gave the requested assent at its 1 430th meeting held on 15 and 16 October 1990.
