Statistics on European transport
An updated version of the statistical pocket book "EU Transport in Figures" is now available on the Website of the European Commission, DG VII. The site, which was launched in July 1998, aims to provide transport statistics in a user-friendly way, based on information from the Statistical Office of the European Communities (EUROSTAT), enhanced with data from other organisations, national statistics, studies and estimates where no data is available. Statistics are provided for the following aspects of transport: - Infrastructure; - Means of transport; - Goods and passenger transport; - Safety; - The environment; - Central and Eastern European countries; - Comparison with the USA and Japan.
